Local people held demonstrations in of the Barisal city on Tuesday, demanding immediate arrest of the killers of schoolboy Inan.
Samir Rafi Inan, 16, Class X student of Barisal Government Zila School and only son of Zahangir Hossain Tanu, a contractor of Baro Bari Lane in Banglabazaar area of the city, was beaten to death by terrorists on Saturday over playing cricket.
Father of the victim lodged a murder case on Monday with Barisal Kotwali police, accusing seven youths Rifat and Rishad, sons of Rafikul Islam Gafur, vice-president city Jatiya Party (Ershad), Shiman, Hasan, Rana, Jumman and Sourav.
Earlier, local people nabbed Sourav and handed him over to the police.
The absconding accused and their family members are allegedly threatening the victim’s family.
The demonstrators threatened that if the killers were not arrested immediately, they would announce tougher programmes.
