Popular Dhallywood actress Mahiya Mahi has decided to quit filmdom.
In her facebook status, one of the leading Dhallywood actors stated that the upcoming film Agni 2 would be her last film.
‘Agnee 2 is my last film….Um going to USA…Donno shobar shathe kobe dekha hobe (don’t know when I will meet you all again)…Will miss u all’.
The reason behind this decision could not be known as the actor has left Dhaka for New York. Different sources, however, has allegations that the reason behind Mahi’s decision might be something related to her love relation and some others said she went to US to study BBA.
Director of Agnee 2 Iftekhar Chowdhury, however, said he had not heard anything from Mahi, but had seen the facebook status.
Many film producers and directors will regret if the heroine really quits acting, as she is one of the most-sought after actresses now, says the director.
Debuted with Bappy Chowdhury’s Bhalobasar Rang released in 2012, Mahi had commercially successful films like Bhalobasha Aaj Kal, Anya Rakom Bhalobasha, Poramon, Tabuo Balobashi, Dobir Shaheber Songsar, Ki Darun Dekhte, Agnee, Onek Sadher Moyna and Desha: the Leader. Her recent film- Romeo Vs Juliet (a Bangladesh-India joint venture film)- is now running in cinemas across the country.
