Non-banking financial institution Bangladesh Finance yesterday appointed a new director in its board of directors.
The appointee, Mahtab Uddin Ahmed, previously served mobile network operator Robi as managing director and chief executive officer, said a press release.
He previously worked for Unilever Bangladesh as national finance director and served in top positions of several domestic and multinational organisations at home and abroad.
In his reaction, Mahtab said he was proud to join Bangladesh Finance as a director and would contribute to the future success of the organisation.
Welcoming Mahtab’s appointment in the organisation, Manwar Hossain, chairman of Bangladesh Finance, said his inclusion in the board would strengthen corporate governance, international best practices and internal compliance.
Md Kyser Hamid, managing director of the non-banking financial organisation, expressed optimism that Mahtab Uddin Ahmed’s expertise and guidance would revolutionise the financial sector of Bangladesh.
“He will play a special role…through fintech and digital business through collaboration with small and medium enterprise entrepreneurs that’s dedicated for the socio-economic development of the country,” he said.
This will further accelerate sustainable development of Bangladesh Finance, he added.
