Mang Uching Marma, from Bandarban, was named the first Bangladeshi Idol at the grand finale aired on SATV on Friday.
Mang won the title on the audeince vote. The runers up are Mrimoy Singha Manti and Arif Rahman Joy.
Prominent singers of country Ferdausi Rahman, Andrew Kishore, Ayub Bachchu and Mehrin were the judges of Bangladeshi Idol.
First Bangladeshi Idol show was introduiced this year, which is the local version of the international franchise of Idols first introduced in UK in 2001.
Mang Uching Marma is currently a student of higher secendary level at the Bandarban Goverment College.
A vocalist of the local band Chimbuk, Mang has been performing at different places of the country for the past seven years.
Hw also won the hearts of the audience and recocognitions from the judges as a good singer of the other genres of Bangla songs.
Mang is the first ever singer from the Chittagong Hill Tracts, who won at any national level competition. The talented singer dreams of a prosperious career in music.
