Openers Abdul Majid and Rony Talukdar both reached triple-digits for league-leaders Dhaka as the fourth round of the National Cricket League got underway on Thursday. Dhaka v Rajshahi
Dhaka were 340-1 at the close of play on day one at the BKSP-4 ground in Savar, with Majid (155 not out) and Taiabur Parvez (65 not out) taking an unbeaten 143-run second-wicket partnership through to stumps.
Earlier, Majid and Talukdar (103) put on a 197-run opening partnership to take complete control of the match against second-place Rajshahi before Talukdar was caught behind off Forhad Hossain.
Khulna v Sylhet
Sylhet were bundled out for just 123 in 50.4 overs at the Sylhet District Stadium thanks to four wickets each from Khulna’s Dollar Mahmud (4-14) and Rajibul Islam (4-20). Sylhet lost wickets early and often, with Rajin Saleh (48) and Sayem Alam (33) providing the only resistance.
53 runs from wicketkeeper Mithun Ali and an unbeaten 41 from Tushar Imran saw Khulna through to close with a 23-run lead at 150-4.
Barisal v Chittagong
Wicketkeeper Shahin Hossain hit 66 not out and received support from every member of the tail to help Barisal post 197 after a top order collapse saw them at 32-6 at the MA Aziz Stadium in Chittagong.
Chittagong were 90-3 at close, led by wicketkeeper Irfan Sukur’s 31 not out.
Dhaka Metro v Rangpur
Dhiman Ghosh scored 72 and Tanvir Haider added 38 as Rangpur posted 240 all out at the Shaheed Chandu Stadium in Bogra.
Dhaka Metro were 12-1 at close after Elias Sunny fell to Shuvashis Roy for 11 to end the day.
