Prices of different types of meats for the upcoming month of Ramadan were fixed on Sunday. The decision was taken at an opinion sharing meeting at Nagar Bhaban of Dhaka South City Corporation while representatives of both city corporations of Dhaka and meat
traders’ associations were present, said a press release.The meeting was jointly organised by the DSCC and the Dhaka North City
Corporation for keeping meat price stable in Ramadan.
The traders agreed to sell every kilogram of local beef at Tk 275, foreign beef at Tk 260, goat meat at Tk 450, mutton at Tk 390 and buffalo meat at Tk 260 from the first to the 26th Ramadan.
They also said the price list would be hung at every meat shop.
DSCC administrator Mohammad Nazmul Islam urged the traders to ensure quality of meat.
The programme was attended, among others, by DSCC chief executive officer Mohammad Ansar Ali Khan and chief health officer Brigadier General Abdullah Al Harun, DNCC chief executive officer BM Enamul Haque and chief health officer Brigadier General Mohammad Afzalur Rahman, Bangladesh Meat Traders’ Association secretary general Mohammad Rabiul Alam, Dhaka Metropolitan Meat Businessmen’s Association president Mohammad Abdul Barek and general secretary Mohammad Shamim Ahmed.
