“Poush Phaguner Pala” to touch 250 episodes
Shooting of the mega serial “Poush Phaguner Pala” is on in village Belishwar, located in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka district. Though so far the shooting had been confined to short spans, the camera now will be busy for 40 days beginning July 1. Director of the serial Afsana Mimi is naturally on her toes as she steers the cast and crew.
The star cast includes Sharmili Ahmed, Jyotsna Biswas, Raisul Islam Asad, Afroza Banu, Zahid Hasan, Sadia Islam Mou, Intekhab Dinar, Tushar Khan, Tropa Majumdar, Shohana Saba and Bonya Mirza. Bonya, who will don the role of “Rani” is the latest addition to the serial. The director said that there is also a strong possibility that all-round actor ATM Shamsuzzaman will join the cast.
“A landmark 105 episodes of the serial have been aired so far. The current round of shooting will give us another 135episodes. The serial will have 250 episodes,” said Mimi.
“The artistes are very busy presently. I have to arrange my shooting schedule according to their calendar. Since the shooting is being held outdoors, I am completing it at a stretch. The village has become very close to my heart and the villagers are very supportive,”” she added.
On the question of whether she plans to make a movie, Mimi smilingly answers in the positive and says that a formal announcement to this effect will be made by the end of the year.
