At least three siblings were injured as miscreants looted cash money, a motorcycle and a gold chain in Sylhet on Thursday evening. The victims were identified as Shahadat Khan Dabir, 35, son of the late Kutub Khan of Noapara at Akhalia area in the city, and his sister Lucky Begum, 30, and brother Kabir Khan, 25, sources in the police said. Dabir along with his sister Lucky and brother Kabir were going to a relative’s house in a motorcycle from their Noapara residence at Akhalia in the city.
Local sources said a group of some 10 miscreants, armed with sharp weapons, including machetes, attacked them in front of Ansar Camp in the city’s Akhalia around 7:00pm on Thursday.
The attackers snatched Tk 80,000 in cash and a gold chain from the victims after hacking them and fled the scene by driving the motorcycle of Dabir, the victims alleged.
Local residents came forward and took the three wounded siblings to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital after the incident, local sources said.
Being contacted, Jalalabad police officer-in-charge Gausul Hussain confirmed New Age of the news and said they also visited the spot after the incident.
