As a successful TV actress, though she has possessed a goodposition in drama for 22 years, Mita Noor was never seen directing any play inher career. For the first time, she is going to appear herself as a directorsince she has recently completed the shooting of a play titled ‘Choungali,’which was written by Khondokar Hafiz Redu.
The cast of the play included Meer Sabbir, Rahamat Ali,Ehsanul Haque Minu, Alvi Ahmed, some artistes of Group Theatre and some localpeoples of Manikganj.
The story of the play features ‘Choungali’, a traditionalmedium of announcing news or any announcement in the rural areas. ThroughChoungali, an announcer inform other villagers of some new events or news whilesometimes, he also creates problems by announcing false news. In this play,Meer Sabbir performs as an announcer and the story goes ahead centering someproblems created by Mir Sabbir.
While expressing her feelings, actress-cum-director MitaNoor said, “I always feel comfortable to work before camera. For the firsttime, I worked behind the camera and I really enjoyed it.”
“As a director, I can reflect my dream in a play which isnot possible as a directors,” she said.
By performing in a weekly play of Bangladesh televisiontitled ‘Sagor Sencha Sadh’ in 1989, Mita Noor came into view as an actress. Butshe earned huge popularity by performing in a TVC of Olympic battery in 1992,which was directed by Afzal Hossain. The jingle of this TVC ‘Alo Alo Beshi Alo’got enormous popularity to the viewers. Mita Noor acted two drama serials‘Ajana Gontobyo’ and ‘Eito Jibon’ is being regularly aired respectively on NTVand Machrangaa.
