A Chittagong mobile court fined three business enterprises Tk 1. 25 lakh on Tuesday on charge of manufacturing and selling food and drinking water in unhygienic condition.
The court, led by executive magistrate of the port city corporation Nazia Shirin, fined Apple D Bakeries and Hasan Bakery at Bahaddarhat Tk 50,000 each for manufacturing food in unhygienic condition.
The court fined the owner of Meghna Pure Drinking Water at Chandgaon for lacking approval from the Bangladesh Standards and Testing Institution.
The court also evicted the hawkers from the footpath of Bahaddarhat kitchen market during the drive.
