Former general secretary of Bangladesh Weightlifting Federation, retired wing commander Mohiuddin Ahmed, got a rare honour of working as a technical judge in Rio de Janeiro Olympics.
Mohiuddin, who was nominated by World Weightlifting Federation as one of the 45 technical judges of the discipline, will leave for Rio today for the job.He was also a technical judge in 2004 Athens Olympics.
It was learnt that former general secretary of Bangladesh Swimming Federation, Dr. Sultanul Aziz was acted as a jury in several global meets, including 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
Mohiuddin was the general secretary of BWF until June when his committee was replaced by an ad hoc body.
Bangladesh sought two wild-cards for Rio Olympics with no avail as the Bangladeshi weightlifters could not meet the required standard set out by their world body.
