The Bangladesh Hockey Federation will take its time before making any decision over a report of the fact-finding committee that was formed to investigate Bangladesh’s below-par performance in the recently concluded Asia Cup.
After a meeting of hockey’s governing body, its president Air Marshal Enamul Bari said it will take them another meeting before reaching any conclusion.
Manager Abdur Rashid Sikder and the three-member fact-finding committee submitted their reports to the president during the governing body meeting while the national team’s Pakistan coach Naveed Alam submitted his report right after the completion of the tournament.
The BHF boss said that he will also review the reports before the next meeting which could be held in October 10 or 11.
‘We sent the team to Malaysia in the hope of achieving a good result but we did not get what we had expected. So we are trying to find the actual reason why the team failed to perform,’ Bari told reporters during a break of the governing body meeting.
‘We are working with three different reports issued by the coach, manager and fact-finding committee. I believe that after assessing all the reports we will be able to make the right decision,’ he said.
The BHF president also said that he will talk to the coach, captain, manager and other concerned people if deemed necessary.
‘I want to see all the three reports so that there cannot be any misunderstanding. I hope nobody will comment until we give a decision otherwise it may create disorder in the game of hockey,’ he said.
