The Bangladesh Cricket Board appointed retired major Abu Mohammad Humayun Morshed as the head of its Anti-Corruption Unit as per the International Cricket Council’s guideline, said a BCB official on Monday. The BCB decided to separate the anti-corruption unit from its security unit following the ICC instruction. ‘Anti-corruption and security unit was earlier just one unit managed by the same group of people,’ said BCB chief executive officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury.
Morshed’s assignment will start with the forthcoming Dhaka Premier League that is expected to begin from October 10 as the BCB’s anti-corruption code is applicable for all domestic cricket tournaments.
