NASDAQ Stock Exchange will present a demonstration on upgraded trading technology, which they had been using for doing transactions, at the Dhaka Stock Exchange today.
NASDAQ stock market, also known simply as the NASDAQ, is an American stock exchange. ‘NASDAQ’ originally stood for National Association of Securities Dealers Automated Quotations.
‘The NASDAQ is offering the presentation to the DSE under a memorandum of understanding that had been signed between the two bourses earlier,’ DSE president Ahasanul Islam told New Age.
‘They will make a presentation on different updated technology that they had already been using,’ the DSE president said.
Another DSE official said that after the presentation the bourse would decide whether it will move for further up gradation or not.
DSE on June 10 last year introduced an online-based trading system named MSA Plus.
However, the MSA Plus software failed to cheer the investors as its operational flaws delayed trading for one hour on two separate occasions when new companies debuted on the bourse late last year.
The software also failed to execute buy and sell order on several occasions.
Following the incidents, the Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission launched an investigation and found negligence of the software vendor as well as the DSE was the reason.
