The divisional round of the National Earth Olympiad 2013, on environment and earth science, was held in the Barisal city on Friday.
The programme was held in the Udyan School auditorium followed
by a discussion meeting and a prize giving ceremony.Awlad Hossain Rakib, coordinator of the organising committee, presided over the programme conducted by Rashed Imam, activist of Bangladesh Youth Environmental Initiative.
Professor Moazzem Hussain, educationist, Albert Ratna, acting headmaster of the school, Akkas Hossain, cultural activists, Shamir Shihab, national committee member and Abdullah Sakil, project coordinator of BIYEI were also present at the programme.
Students from Class VIII to Class XII participated in the competition.
Kazi Abu Sayeed, Md Shariar Mia and Sultana Kamal Moni, obtained the first, second and third position respectively in a 60-minute exam with 80 MCQ questions in the Barisal divisional round.
