Guerrilla gets record number of awards
The war of independence based film Guerrilla wins 13 awards in 10 categories including the best film according to government’s gazette notification of the National Film Award 2011 published on Monday.
The gazette named 30 winners in 24 categories for the year 2011.
Protagonist of the film Guerrilla Joya Ahsan wins the award for best actress while Ferdous Ahmed gets the best actor award for the film Kusum Kusum
Prem.
Guerrilla director Nasiruddin Yousuff gets three awards for film in three categories including best director, and jointly with Ebadur Rahman in best screenplay and best dialogue.
Noted actor and film personality Abdur Razzak known as Nayakraj Razzak wins the lifetime achievement award this year.
Guerrilla also wins awards in best producers [Faridur Reza Sagar and Esha Yousuf], best art director [Animesh Aich], best makeup artist [Md Ali Babul], best editing [Samir Ahmed] and best costume direction [Shimul Yousuf] categories.
Shatabdi Wadud and Misha Sawdagar jointly win best villain award for their performances respectively in Guerrilla and Boss Number One.
Dr Mohammad Zafar Iqbal wins award in best story-writing category for the film Amar Banbdhu Rashed. L Apu Rosario wins the best cinematographer award and Ratan Pal gets the best audiographer award for the same film.
The best documentary award is announced for the film Al Badar O Lok Nayak Kangal Harinath, jointly produced by Department of Film and Publication and Fakhrul Arefin.
Best male and female vocalists in 2011 respectively are Kumar Biswajit rendering playback in Ma Amar Chokher Mani and Nazmun Munira Nancy singing playback in Prajapati. Habib Wahid wins the award for his music direction in the film Prajapati. Composer Emon Saha and lyricist Shafik Tuhin win awards for their works respectively in Kusum Kusum Prem and Prajapati.
MA Alamgir and Farida Akter Babita win the awards for the best actor and actress in supporting roles for the film Ke Apon Ke Por. Child artiste Semanti wins the award for her performance in Khanda Galpa- 1971.
It is to be mentioned that four films produced by Faridur Reza Sagar, managing director of Impress Telefilms, win 16 awards in 2011.
