Nawsheen Nahreen, widely known as Nawsheen, has been present in the entertainment industry for a while now. Talented in both acting and TV show hosting, Nawsheen has already carved a niche in the media.
For Nawsheen, who began as a Radio Jocky, journey to stardom has been fast. Acting, TV show hosting and modeling- she has done it all. After her much success in the small screen Nawseen’s next frontier is the silver screen and she is out to make a name for herself in the movie industry. She will make her debut on the silver screen with the film Shoa Chan Pakhi. Directed by Shafiqul Islam Bhairabi, the film features Anisur Rahman Milon opposite of Nawshin. She is also working in another film, Hellow Amit.
Speaking about earlier days, Nawsheen says, “One of the things that I did most during my childhood was changing schools. My father was a government employee. And due to the nature of his work he was often transferred. But wherever I went I always tried to learn dancing and singing.”
Recalling her days as a RJ, she says, “After returning from UK, I began my career as a RJ with Radio Today in 2007. Being a RJ was something, which was entirely new to me. I used to host the programme World Music.
In 2008, I received the opportunity of anchoring Today’s Adda which became a very popular programme within a very short time and people began to take noticed of me.”
Speaking about switching to TV from Radio, Nawsheen states, “Towards the end of 2008, I was offered to anchor a TV programme, Jege Achho Ki, which was aired on RTV
The success of the show won me several offers for TV plays and TVCs.
From 2009, I have been working in both single-episode TV plays and TV-serials. My first breakthrough as an actress happened with Niyot Niyoti Nitantoi.”
“Till date I have appeared in nine TVCs. I have been featured in the TVCs for Banglalink, Keya, Pran and more,” she adds.
After a short break of a few months Nawshin is back again. Speaking about her current projects, Nawshin says, “Apart from hosting live musical programmes on Channel-i, I am working in two single-episode TV plays, the plays are featuring Shajal as my co-actor. I have also received offer to act in the TV serial Ladies Hostel. I will be traveling to Malaysia for shooting a TVC.”
