Bangladesh Cricket Board president Nazmul Hasan remained adamant about bringing certain changes in the national team set-up in the wake of a dismal performance in the ICC World Twenty20. Nazmul said they have sought a report from coach Shane Jurgensen and captain Mushfiqur Rahim, which will be evaluated at the BCB’s next meeting and action will be taken accordingly.
‘We have sought report from the management,’ the BCB president told reporters after an emergency meeting on Saturday. ‘They were asked to submit the report within a week. We want to know what they have to say. Once we know this we will take action,’ he said.
Bangladesh are the only side not get a win in the Super-10 phase, finishing last in their group.
The BCB called the emergency meeting to discuss certain issues relating to the ICC World Twenty20 before Nazmul leaves for Dubai to attend an ICC meeting.
Among other issues, the BCB also discussed a recent interview of Sakib al Hasan, who suggested Bangladesh should not play any international series at home for two years. Sakib also questioned the patriotism of the country’s 90 per cent people, something which did not go well with the BCB officials.
Nazmul said Sakib has been asked to explain his interview and an action could be taken afterwards.
