Injured pace bowler Nazmul Hossain is set to leave for Australia today to undergo an operation on his left knee after sustaining an injury during the Bangladesh tour of Sri Lanka earlier this year.
Nazmul is expected to be operated on by Australian surgeon David Young in Melbourne on June 6, who had previously performed surgery on both knees ofMashrafee bin Murtaza.
‘I am confident as Mashrafee [bin Murtaza]
bhai recovered well from his knee injury through him [David Young],’ Nazmul told reporters at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium on Sunday.
Nazmul returned to the country after joining the team for the one-day series in Sri Lanka after he had twisted his left knee during a practice session in Colombo on March 20, but unfortunately he did not respond to treatment which eventually ruled him out of the series.
