Bangladesh Cricket Board’s newly appointed specialist bowling coach Heath Streak arrived in Dhaka on Monday to take over the charge. Former Zimbabwe’s Test skipper Streak is expected to join the national cricket team training session today at Mirpur ahead of their home series against India. Streak, 40, looked to be tired after a hectic travelling but still managed to greet the local media with ‘Assalamualaikum’ with a typical English-ascent on his arrival at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 8:00pm.
‘It’s nice to be back in Dhaka,’ Streak told reporters at the airport. ‘It’s like my second home,’ said Streak, who is committed to serving Bangladesh for 450 days during his two-year tenure.
Streak, Zimbabwe’s all-time leading all-rounder with 4,933 runs and 455 wickets in international cricket, also performed the role of bowling coach of the Zimbabwe national team before taking up the Bangladesh job.
