The newly elected Khulna city mayor, Moniruzzaman Moni, said he would try his best to fulfill his poll pledges without being politically biased.
He said this while attending a press conference Tuesday morning at Hotel Royal International in the city on the occasion of taking charge of the KCC office today.
While addressing the conference, the mayor-elect mentioned his 21 poll pledges and said he would not be biased in fulfilling his promises.
The mayor-elect also urged the government not to be partial in allocating fund for implementation of the development projects.
He also said he would primarily priorities completing the incomplete tasks of the former mayor, Talukder Abdul Khaleque.
The mayor-elect also mentioned that he would never indulge in tender manipulation in the KCC.
Khulna city BNP president Nazrul Islam Manju, district BNP general secretary Advocate Shafiqul Alam Mona, Khulna Jamaat nayeb-a-ameer Shafiqul Alam, Khelafat Majlish Khulna district unit preseident Mawlana Golam Kibria and Jatiya Party leader Advocate Latifur Rahman Labu attended the programme, among others.
‘My first and foremost duty would be to depoliticise Khulna City Corporation, equipping the entire administration with experienced staff to turn KCC into a transparent local government body,’ he said.
