GM Niaz Murshed and IM Minhazuddin Ahmed started with wins in the first round of the fourth Asian Indoor and Martial Art Games, which got underway at Incheon, South Korea on Sunday.
Niaz secured a victory over Celis Chang Joel of Macau while Sagar
also claimed a win against Ashraf Ahmed of Maldives.Meanwhile, WFM Sharmin Sultana Shirin fell to a defeat against GM Zhao Xue of China in the women’s category.
A total of 50 players from 26 countries, including 19 Grandmasters are participating in the men’s category, while 43 players including five Grandmasters from 22 countries are enrolled in the women’s category.
