The Bangladesh Cricket Board could not make any serious headway regarding planned tour of Pakistan despite discussing the matter on the sideline of an ICC meeting in Dubai, said an official on Wednesday. Bangladesh, according to the present FTP, are supposed to host Pakistan for two Tests, three ODIs and a T20 between April 10 and May 7. But Pakistan Cricket Board recently put some conditions making the series doubtful.
According to media reports, PCB wanted fifty per cent share of the revenue generated in the series and a written commitment of Bangladesh Under-19 team’s tour to their trouble-torn country.
‘We had discussed the matter with them,’ BCB’s chief Nizamuddin Chowdhury told New Age on Wednesday from Dubai.
‘We gave our proposals while they came up with their ones. But no decision was made. I think
there are some issues involved the board cannot decide alone. It requires an approval of the government as well.
Nizamuddin informed that the upcoming series as well as the next series against Pakistan should be considered as the home series of Bangladesh.
‘Under the new FTP we had earlier agreed to play four series,’ he said.
‘The first two series will be held in Bangladesh and should be considered as our home series. No decision was made where the other two series will be held.
‘If the situation permits, they can be held in Pakistan or we both countries mutually can decide a venue,’ he said.
