Entertainment just got a whole lot more interesting with the introduction of the new Nokia X6, the flagship music device from Nokia and a dedicated web portal to engage music lovers. Nokia unveiled this combo of full blown entertainment experience giving Bangladeshi music lovers an exciting platform to connect with each other and their favorite entertainers at the “Welcome to the Nokia Playground” event organised at Pan Pacific Sonargaon on Thursday night, says a press release.
“The essence of Nokia has always been about connecting people to their passion. We are all about enabling everyone to make the most of every moment” Prem Chand, general manager, Nokia Emerging Asia commented. He announced the start of the pre-order for Nokia X6 which will soon be available in Bangladesh and unveiled “nowplaying” – the dedicated web portal designed to jazz up the entertainment in our lives.
Nokia X6 underlines Nokia’s commitment to providing quality music capabilities on mobile devices and offer key features that ensure the best mobile music experience, including dedicated music keys, support for 3.5 mm connectors and extended battery life for music listening.
The ultimate device for social networkers, the Nokia X6 has a 16:9 widescreen optimized for photos, videos and browsing and offers easy access from the home screen to social networks, like Face book and Twitter. The entertainment experience is completed by three embedded games, Spore by EA, Asphalt4 and DJ Mix Tour by Gameloft, and direct access from the homescreen to download more games and applications through the Ovi Store.
The Nokia X6 is capable of playing up to 35 hours of music, offering 16GB of on-board memory which can store up to 5,500 tracks on the device itself and supports all main digital music formats, with a slick 3.2″ finger touch interface and a 5 mega pixel camera with Carl Zeiss lens. The Nokia X6 follows up on the Nokia 5800 in style and touch – however with the long-awaited capacitive touch.
The pre order for Nokia X6 will continue up to March 10, 2010. It’s available at Tk 30,800. The first fifty consumers who will preorder and buy from the three Nokia Stores in Bashundhara City, Gulshan and Uttara (150 in total) will win the Nokia Bluetooth Stereo Headset BH-503.
The web portal, http://nowplaying.nokia.com.bd, will allow fans to be one click away from their favorite entertainers. The web portal is designed to be a perfect playground with not only music, but entertainment based content, games and applications from Ovi Store. Musical powerhouses Fuad and Feedback have partnered with Nokia to enthrall music lovers with a first of its kind experience. Fuad, whose first blog post has already been uploaded on the site, and Feedback, will engage with their fans on this web portal through their blogs. They can connect to the celebrities directly by posting comments on the blogs. Through interacting with the artists fans can now find out about what goes into creating their favorite songs, learn about the inspiration behind their favorite tunes and get a sneak peek into the behind the scenes snippets.
“Our fans make us what we are and it’s always a deeply rewarding experience to connect with them. We often don’t get the chance to interact with our fans directly. I am glad that Nokia has created this amazing platform to bring out the blogger in me and get closer to my fans.” commented Fuad. Musicians from Feedback were equally excited to be associated with the “nowplaying” web portal. “Blogging and social networking have become a way of life for entertainers worldwide and they are using internet as an interface to connect with fans, why should Bangladesh be left behind?” “Come, let’s get the adda going on the internet!” they invited their fans.
