Nordic companies in Bangladesh will launch the Nordic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) tomorrow to form a platform in an effort to promote business between the Nordic countries and Bangladesh.
The chamber aims to improve the business and ethical environment and safeguard new business opportunities.
The Nordic embassies in Bangladesh and the temporary NCCI committee will announce the launch and the first election of the chamber at a ceremony at Westin Dhaka tomorrow, according to a statement.
NCCI members will elect the first NCCI committee from 11am to 12.15pm. Speakers from the US, Canadian, and German chambers and the Swedish ambassador will speak before the election.
Commerce Minister Faruk Khan, Foreign Secretary Mohamed Mijarul Quayes, Norwegian Minister of Environment and International Development Erik Solheim, Swedish Ambassador Anneli Lindahl-Kenny, Danish Ambassador Svend Olling and Norwegian Ambassador Ragne Birte will attend the event.
Representatives from the private sector and the government will speak to the audience at the event, to be supported by the four founding members — Brummer & Partners, Ericsson, Logic Management and Telenor.
The mission of NCCI is to represent the common interests of Nordic businesses in promoting bilateral trade, services and investment.
