Notre Dame University Bangladesh welcomed its freshers of the fall semester in an orientation programme on the campus in the capital on Monday.
Addressing the event as chief guest, professor Mesbahuddin Ahmed, former chairman of the Bangladesh Accreditation Council, said, ‘Notre Dame is a place which established based on discipline. From my experience, freshers will learn discipline from the university.’
He asked the students to use their critical thinking, creativity, collaboration, and communication skills to change themselves, said a press release.
Presiding over the event, the university vice-chancellor, Father Patrick D Gaffney, said, ‘You should try to watch your destiny in life. Our teachers are carrying out research papers here. As a student, you have to ask them for better learning.’
A cultural programme was held on the occasion, and the journal of the English department named ‘Critical Insight’ was unveiled at the event.
