The National Sports Council has cancelled the work order for construction of a swimming pool at the Khulna Women’s Sports Complex as the contractor could not complete it within the specified time. According to NSC engineer Awlad Hossain, Parija Construction Co was awarded the contract a cost of Tk 7.29 crore. But the firm failed to complete the works in time despite several reminders from the NSC.
Awlad Hossain said that they would invite fresh tenders for completing the unfinished works, while the security money deposited by Parija would be forfeited.
When contacted, the project manager of Parija Construction Aminul Islam said they have not yet received any letter from the NSC regarding the cancellation of the work order.
