NZ made to pay for win over Scotland
Scotland bowlers gave New Zealand a run for their money in the chase down of 142 runs in the 6th match of the World Cup 2015 under Pool A at University Oval in Dunedin.
The Kiwis who thought of finishing off the match quickly was made to lose 7 wickets in the lowest run chase yet of this World Cup to secure two more points in the group stage.
Seemingly at a day dominated by bowlers, New Zealand packed Scotland for 142 runs earlier in the innings. Berrington, 50, and Manchan, 56, were the only resistance.
Corey Anderson and Daniel Vettori claimed three wickets each for New Zealand whereas Trent Boult and Tim Southee claimed two wickets apiece.
New Zealand came on to bat in an aggressive mode eyeing a quick finisher at homeground. But, Scotland bowlers ot in the way and made the run chase weigh heavy on them.
Williamson was the highest scorer for the Kiwis at 38. Iain Wardlaw and Davey claimed three wickets each while Majid Haq took one.
New Zealand have now secured four points in the Pool A match winning this match and the World Cup opener against Sri Lanka.
