Vehicles carrying O and A-level examinees will remain out of the purview of the ongoing 60-hour hartal. The examinations are scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
“We have decided to keep vehicles carrying O and A-level examinees out of the hartal purview considering the interest of the students,” BNP Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said on Sunday.
Addressing a press briefing at the party’s Naya Paltan central office, he also said that vehicles carrying Hajj
pilgrims and the Bangladesh-New Zealand cricket match would also remain out of the ambit of the strike.
Ambulances, eateries, medicine shops and kitchen markets will also remain out of the hartal programme, he added.
Despite the BNP announcement to keep O and A- level examinations out of the hartal purview, students and guardians are panicked over the hartal- related violence.
Talking to The Independent, an official of the British Council said that O- and A-level examinations are scheduled to be held on Tuesday, and that the examinations would be held as per the schedule.
