A case has been filed against former officer-in-charge of Bahubal police station Azizur Rahman Sarkar and six others in connection with the suicide of a schoolgirl after rape inside the thana quarters on September 14.
M Shah Alam, uncle of victim Marzana, filed the case with Women and Children Repression Prevention Tribunal on Sunday.
The other accused in the case are sub-inspector of the police station Wahidur Rahamn, constables Ruhul Amin, Abdul Kadir and Dulal Mia, Kadir’s son Masum and Ruhul’s son Fahad Hossain.
In his complaint, Alam of Charchala village in Sirajganj, said Fahad raped the niece of sub-inspector Rafiqul Islam at his thana quarters residence and Masum tried to violate her on September 14.
On information, Azizul, now OC of Habiganj Detective Branch of police, and other policemen went to the spot.
They, however, asked the girl embarrassing questions. At one stage, they took her to the rooftop of the building and touched her private organs in the name of examination, Alam told the court.
The ill-fated girl jumped from the rooftop as the policemen tried to strip her off, leaving her seriously injured.
She was taken to Bahubal Upazila Health Complex where she died after a while.
The complainant also said the OC forced Marzana’s auntie Kamrun Nahar to file a case against only Fahad to hide the misdeeds of his and other accused.
