Eight among 11 premier division clubs completed their inter-club player transfer formalities on the final day of the window after it was extended by the Bangladesh Hockey Federation due to requests from the participating clubs. Mohammedan Sporting Club, Mariner Youngs Club, Wari Club and Bangladesh Sporting Club are not taking any part in the player transfer as the quartet have decided to boycott all hockey activities under the current executive committee.
Bangladesh Sporting Club, however, changed their decision in the last minute leaving Mohammedan, Mariner and Wari as the only clubs who have not registered their team.
In the transfer deadline day, last year’s runners-up Usha Krira Chakra completed their registration formalities after signing national skipper Mamunur Rahman Chayan, national forward Krishna Kumar, midfielders Taposh Barman and Prashanta, forwards Jahid bin Talib Shuvo and Rimon Kumar and former national forward Maksud Alam Habul.
Dhaka Abahani roped in the services of goalkeeper Ashim Gope and Sheikh Mohammad Nannu from Mohammedan. The Sky Blue outfit also recruited national forward Pushkor Khisa Mimo, Hasan Jubaer Niloy, Khorshed, Shitul and midfielder Rumman Sarker.
Veteran midfielder Musa Mia also remained with Abahani while the Dhanmondi-based outfit also decided to include six BKSP players.
Sonali Bank, meanwhile, registered 11 players, Sadharan Bima signed seven players while Wanderers Club recruited three players for the upcoming season.
