Sri Lankan Pakir Ali joined Sheikh Jamal KC as the coach on Monday filling the void left by Serbian coach Zoran Krajlevich.
Pakir, who spent a decade from 1981 to 1991 in popular Dhaka giants Abahani in his playing days, however, had a poor start as coach with Jamal losing to Arambagh in his first game.
Pakir, also coached PWD and Abahani in the past, took the hot chair as Jamal sacked Krajlevich night before their opening game following a disagreement over the squad selection. Pakir said he is aware of the situation and ready to comply with the demand of the club officials, who wanted the previous coach to pick a side according to their personal choice.
‘I knew everything before I came here. This is a very common scene in Asia as we are not that much developed in the game. Here the coach should discuss with the club officials before finalising the team,’ he said.
