The Dhaka Premier League got off to a rousing start on Tuesday as promoted Partex SC shocked runners-up Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club on the opening day.
Sri Lankan Roshane Shiwanka Silva set up a dramatic 11-run win for Partex with an unbeaten 111 at Futallah. British-based Pakistani all-rounder Azhar Zaidi hammered 141 to steal the show for holders Legends of Rupganj, who earned a huge 247-run win for newcomers Old DOHS at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
Title contenders Prime Dholeshwar defeated Kalabagan Krira Chakra by 139 runs to make a perfect start to their league campaign.

Sri Lankan Roshane played 138 balls and struck 10 fours and a six as Partex recovered from 37-4 to score 200-8 in their 50 overs.
Wicketkeeper Arman Hussain (40) was the only batsman to offer him some support adding 96 runs for the fifth-wicket.
Jamal seemed cruising when skipper Tushar Imran made 72 but paceman Azim took three wickets in a devastating spell to finish with 3-43, restricting Jamal to 189-8.
Nuruzzaman Masum complemented Azim with 3-23.
