People’s songs composed by the young musicians were presented at the Shawkat Osman Auditorium of Central Public Library on
Monday to help the victims of the Savar tragedy.
These inspirational songs, presented by three young singers, uphold the struggles of the marginalised people and suggest them
to be conscious of their rights. The proceeding of the sale of the tickets of the programme was donated to the National Orthopedic Hospital for the treatment of the injured apparel workers.
All the singers– Susanta, Rony and Hasan— are journalists. They presented over 10 songs with guitars at the programme titled Pothei Hoyechhe Dekha Bandhu-Ssmoyer Gaan, Tarunyer 71 O Kichhu Katha.
The sound created on guitars by Ratul and Sajib synchronised with the high pitched voice modulation of the singers made the evening enjoyable.
The show began with Rony’s presentation of self composed song Brahmaputra, which narrates the death of once might river Brahmaputra by manmade pollution and aggression.
Rony, a TV journalist, also presented his thought provoking songs Aah! Shahbag and Surja sarothi.
Hasan, an Online journalist, received audience acclaims presenting songs such as Haater muthoi agun, Protidin muchhe jay akash and Pothe hoyechhe dekha bandhu at the show.
Susanta, who works in a weekly, also entertained the audience presenting songs such as Likho din likho raat and Bhanga chala.
Hasan and Rony performed Jege utho jege uthi in duet. The song’s provocative lyric called everyone to come forward and contribute to building a better Bangladesh.
