One hundred photographs taken by the members of Bangladesh Photo Journalists’ Association (BPJA) will be displayed at the exhibition organised by the Nepal Forum of Photo Journalists, the BPJA informed the media at a press conference at its office in Dhaka on Tuesday.
According to the Association, they will take part in the three-day photography exhibition titled ‘Rupashi Bangla Photo Exhibition’ on the natural beauty of Bangladesh to be held at the Nepal Art Council Babarmohal in Kathmandu in Nepal on July 3.
BPJA’s president AKM Mohsin, its former president Rafiqur Rahman and its general secretary Nuruddin Ahmed were present at the press conference.
The BPJA said that an eleven-member team will go to Nepal on the occasion. The team include Rafiqur Rahman, AKM Mohsin, Nuruddin Ahmed, Khaled Haider, Shafiuddin Ahmed, Shahadat Hossain, Anisur Rahman, Mahbub Hossain Khan, Golum Mostafa, Ataur Rahman, and SMA Hye.
They will also participate in a seminar, organised by the South Asian Photojournalists’ Association (SAPA) and a bilateral meeting with the Nepalese photojournalists.
The Association members also informed the media that a declaration about the photo journalism and journalists titled ‘Kathmandu Declaration’ will be declared during the exhibition.
AKM Mohsin said, ‘Through the exhibition, we want to boost the relationship among the photojournalists of the South Asian region.’ He further said, ‘We will also project the culture, heritage and natural beauty of the Bangladesh to the people of Nepal.’
‘We will also exchange our ideas with the Nepalese photojournalists about the proper function of South Asian Photojournalists’ Association (SAPA),’ Moshin added.
According to the Association, the BPJA is a platform of the professional photojournalists 25 districts of the country and the organisation has been organising the ‘Rupashi Bangla Photo Exhibition’ for the last twenty years in Bangladesh.
