The main attraction of the evening was popular singer Chandana Majumder’s presentation of Pagla Kanai’s song Ki Mojar Ghar Banaichhe. Majumder easily moved the audience with the tone and message of the song, which centres on the physical being. The tradition of bauls who see the body as a temple was evident in the song.
Singer Narayan Chandra Shil also got acclaim by presenting Duddu Shah’s song Darbesh Ki Hoy Mukher Kothay. The thought-provoking lyric along with the beautiful composition of the song moved the audience on that evening.
Bhoba Pagla’s song Bare Bare Ar Asa Hobe Na was beautifully rendered by Biman Chandra Biswas. The song evoked a sense of mortality and transience by its simple lyrics. Swapna Roy, on the other hand, rendered popular number of Bhoba Pagla’s Ja Gechhe Ta Taka Dile Paiba Na in her soulful voice. Mokhlesur Rahman Tito also presented Bhoba Pagla’s remarkable spiritual number Guru Amar Koro Go Karuna in his spontaneous presentation.
Besides, Nirmal Chandra Majumder, Zahid Hossain, Ekram Hossain, Nazmul Tuhin and few others sang at the programme.
The chorus renditions also entertained the audience at the programme. The chorus presented Bhoba Pagla’s Amar Mon Re Manush, Duddu Shah’s Duniyar Doni Doni Phurailo and Fakir Shitlang Shah’s Sua Urli Urli Jibre Jibon creating a joyous atmosphere in the hall.
