The eight-day theatre festival organised by Prangonemor ended on Friday through staging of the troupe’s latest production Irsha at the Music and Dance Centre of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy.
Syed Shamsul Haque’s theatre of absurd Irsha, directed by Ananta Hira, features the inherent jealousy of human beings through the ‘stream of words’ of the three characters- an aged famous artist, a young girl and a young man.
Ramiz Raju, Nuna Afroz and Ananta Hira acted the roles of the aged-famous artist, the young girl and the young man respectively. Like the previous days, a good number of audience enjoyed the experimental production that featured only seven dialogues by the characters: the shortest one is of 12 minutes and the longest one is of around 26 minutes.
Began on November 23, the festival organised marking the 10th founding anniversary of Prangonemo featured all the eight productions those the troupe has produced in the past 10 years.
