The president, Abdul Hamid, on Tuesday laid emphasis on increasing seats at the country’s engineering and technology universities for creating more
engineers to expedite the ongoing development endeavors.
He made the remark while a six-member delegation of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology, led by its vice-chancellor Professor M Murtuza Ali, paid a call on him at Bangabhaban in the afternoon.
The president, who is also chancellor of all the universities, asked the delegation to take effective steps for maintaining quality engineering education at the university.
During the meeting, the delegation apprised the president of various academic and development activities of the university.
