At last capital Dhaka had welcome rain on Wednesday late afternoon after continued hot spell coupled with irritating load shedding that battered life of city dwellers for the last few days.
The scanty but soothing rain was also experienced by some other parts of the country which provided much-awaited relief to the people from the severe heat.Dhaka met office forecast light to moderate rain at few places over the country in the next 24 hours beginning from 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
Met official Sanaul Haque told New Age that the hot spell was projected to continue until heavy rainfall occurs across the country.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department recorded 7 millimetre rainfall in the capital from 6:00 pm on Tuesday to 6:00 pm on Wednesday.
The met office also recorded 16 millimetre rainfall in Mymensingh. 44 millimetre in Tangail, 1 millimetre in Faridpur, 63 millimetre in Khulna, 69 millimetre in Rajshahi, 6 millimetre in Bogra, 14 millimetre in Rangpur, 7 millimetre in Sayedpur and 51 millimetre rainfall in Dinajpur during the same period.
