Grand Master Enamul Hossain Rajib of Bangladesh Navy and Women International Master Shamima Akter Liza of Titas Gas Transmission & Distribution won gold medals respectively in men’s and women’s chess in Bangladesh Games on Monday.
Rajib and Grand Master Ziaur Rahman of Bangladesh Ansar earned equal 8 points and. in the tie-breaking system Rajib got gold medal and Zia got silver medal.
In women’s event Liza and Rani Hamid of the same team finished with equal eight points and Liza overtook Rani in the tie-breaker.
Chess was included in the Bangladesh Games for the first time and matches were held in rapid system.
