Shaheed AHM Kamaruzzaman Central Park and Zoo, the only spacious amusement place in Rajshahi metropolis, has got a new look with massive development work, officials concerned say.
Various beautification and development works like lake renovation, approach road, attractive boundary wall and two modern bridges on the lake were executed.
In addition to the modernisation work, effective measures were taken to procure new beasts and animals.
These were disclosed at a ceremony held at the park to mark the inauguration of ‘Children Corner and Ferries Wheel’ in the city on Wednesday.
The amusement facilities were developed by spending Tk 3.74 crore.
AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, former mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation, opened the development works as guest of honour while Fazley Hossain Badsha, MP, and Zinatun Nessa Talukder MP attended and addressed the function as chief and special guest respectively with Shariful Islam Babu, mayor-in-charge of RCC, in the chair.
