The Rajshahi University authorities have decided to introduce digital identity card for teachers, students and employees and as part of the programme on Tuesday the vice-chancellor inaugurated the ID card project.
At around 9:00am, the vice-chancellor M Abdus Sobhan inaugurated the project at computer science and engineering department as chief gust while professor of the computer department Mamunur Rashid Talukder was present at the ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, the VC urged the students to be equipped with social values and modern knowledge to serve the nation.
He also said the students had a vital role to play in freeing the society from all sorts of degradation like drug addiction.
‘You have to enrich yourself with technology-based knowledge to face the challenges of the 21st century,’ he added.
The procedure of delivering digital ID card will continue from 8:30am to 1:30pm from October 19 to October 21 at computer science and engineering department.
