Rajdhani Unnayan Kartripakkha on Monday finally relaxed the provision for submitting the affidavit using Tk 150 non-judicial stamps to apply for the plots in its projects at Uttara and Purbachal in Dhaka.
The applicants for the Uttara and Purbachal plots will now pay Tk 150 court fees instead of non-judicial stamps for their affidavits, a press release of the housing and public works ministry said.
Rajuk made the decision at a time when the applicants have only two working days in their hands for submitting the applications before the deadline while thousands of applicants had to count Tk 1,000 for each of Tk 150 stamps as a section of vendors cashing in on the scarcity of the stamps sold each of the Tk 150 stamp for Tk 1000.
‘We have made the decision in view of the dearth of Tk 150 non-judicial stamps,’ said Sukumer Chandra Saha, Rajuk estate member.
The applicants meanwhile expressed their dissatisfaction with Rajuk’s delay in making the decision.
‘What is the point of taking such decision today (Monday) while most of the applicants have already bought the stamps at an abnormally high rate,’ said Tofazzal Hossain, who bought Tk 150 non-judicial stamps for Tk 850 on Monday.
