GM Abdullah Al-Rakib of Duronto Rajshahi maintained his lead at the top of the standings after the end of the 9th round games in the 39th National ‘A’ Chess Championship 2013 at the Bangladesh Olympic Association on Monday. Rakib defeated Mohammad Hafizul Islam Chapal of Dhaka City in 41 moves and has 7.5 points. IM Minhazuddin Ahmed Sagar of Bangladesh Ansar is in second position with seven points after he got the better of FM Aminul Islam in 42 moves.
GM Ziaur Rahman of Dhaka Mohammedan and GM Enamul Hossain Razib are joint third with 6.5 points each.
