The materialistic life of the ‘barren land’ changes as the beautiful maid Nandini, who symbolises life, arrives in the town to ‘rescue humanity’ trapped behind tyranny.
‘We tried to articulate the inner message of the Tagore’s symbolic play through our simple but artistic endeavour,’ director of the play Nuna Afroz told New Age.
Nuna Afroz herself played Nandini while Ananta Hira enacted the role of the king.
