Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury, president of Chittagong city unit of BNP, declares to hold rally at Laldighi Maidan on October 25 at any cost.
“We have got the permission to hold rally on the ground prior to Awami League, so we will hold the rally where thousands of people will throng to take part in the movement to oust the government”, Khasru added. He was addressing as chief guest at the rally, held in front of BNP Office Nasimon Bhaban at Kazir Dewri area on Sunday afternoon as part of countrywide protest against the ban on holding rally and march in the capital.
Urging the police administration to be neutral, Khasru said: “You should allow the party to hold rally who got the permission. Do not work to implement agenda of any party. If you work for the interest of any party, people will give its stern reply,” he told police adding that people do not expect this type of misconduct from the administration.
Khasru said as the government does not believe in democracy, they are showing all the undemocratic and absurd behavior. “The people of Chittagong decided to oust the government and they will prove it by taking part in the rally,” he added.
He urged the activists of 18-party alliance to take part in the rally overcoming all the obstacles and make the rally an end of the government.
Former lawmaker Wahidul Alam said people have started their movement to oust the autocratic government. If the demand of Neutral Caretaker Government is not fulfilled by October 25, mass movement will start from the port city and entire city including the port will be paralyzed.
Chaired by Shamsul Alam, vice president, the rally was also addressed by former lawmaker Wahidul Alam, vice president Abu Sufian, SM Fazlul Hoque, vice-president of North district unit of BNP, Aslam Chowdhury, general secretary of North district unit of BNP and Rosi Kabir, among others.
It may be mentioned that ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, president of city unit of AL, held a press conference in the morning and declared to hold rally at Laldighi Maidan on October 24 and 25.
