Bangladesh claimed their second medal in the Commonwealth Chess Championship when Women’s International Master Rani Hamid won gold medal in the senior age (over 60-year) group in New Delhi, India on Wednesday. Rani’s success came a day after Fide Master Mohammad Fahad Rahman had won the bronze medal in the Under-12 group. Rani completed her game with five points out of nine games to ensure the top spot.
Dave Shiv Sankar of India won the silver medal while Lim Kian Hwa of Malaysia finished third in the senior group.
