Bangladesh’s left–arm spinner Abdur Razzak put an all-round show to help World XI side beat Nepal cricket team by 37 runs in an exhibition match in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
Razzak made 16 not out off just seven balls before returned with a figure of 2-11 from his full quota of four overs in the match, held under the banner of ‘Bat for Nepal.’Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya led the World XI side that was consisted of three Bangladeshi players — former captain Aminul Islam, Razzak and Sohag Gazi — along with some current and former players around the world.
Australian Marcus Stoinis made 48 for World XI as they post 135 runs in 20 overs before local boy Suresh Navaratnam grabbed 3-27 to secure a victory for their side.
Before the match an auction were hold, where Bangladeshi expatriate Minhaj Ahmed bid 1,750 Malaysian Ringit (Tk 36,000 approximately) to own the special coin that was used in toss during last year’s World Twenty20 international match between Nepal and Hong Kong.
Bangladesh Cricket Supporters Association had donated the coin to Malaysian Cricket Association, the organiser of the game to raise funds.
Razzak carried the coin to Malaysia and Aminul handed it over to MCA.
