The Rajshahi City Corporation will monitor services of public and private hospitals and clinics in the city to ensure proper healthcare.
Acting mayor of Rajshahi Sariful Islam Babu disclosed the information while he was visiting a six-day eye camp on Saturday morning.
The camp was launched on Friday at Shah Mukhdum Degree College in Rajshahi organised by Al Basar International Foundation, a non-government organisation working in 40 countries.
The acting mayor, during his visit, urged the authorities of hospitals and clinics to ensure proper treatment.
‘Stern action would be taken against the authorities if any irresponsibility was found as we are going to monitor healthcare at the hospitals and clinics,’ he said.
Abdul Hamid Sarker Tekon, Rajshahi City Corporation finance and planning committee president, Ahmed Taher Hamid, coordinator of Albasa International and its programme manager Nuruzzaman were present on the occasion.
