Japan Bangladesh Friendship Hospital (JBFH) has organised a fortnight programme to motivate parents of under-five children to provide their children with polio vaccine and Vitamin A capsule.
On the eve of National Immunisation Day on January 8, JBFH has started registration of under-five children at Dhanmondi and its adjacent areas in the city, says press release.
A total of 20 teams of JBFH have started the registration from December 25.
They have registered 725 children aged less than five in the last three days. Of them, 19 children were never provided with polio vaccine, according to the release.
The health teams also are answering the queries of the parents and informing them of the importance of polio vaccine and Vitamin A capsule.
Child specialists Dr Baki Billah and Prof Habibur Rahman; and public health specialist Dr Mohammad Tajul Islam; have been supervising the registration programme.
